16 weeks and lots of lovin'

I had a terrific midwife appointment yesterday. The baby is measuring right on, I've only gained 2lbs and we heard a steady heartbeat of 150ish bpm. All is right with the world. I have The Sonogram scheduled for July 8th. I can't wait to catch a glimpse of this kid and hopefully learn girl/boy. I've been doing a bit of shopping lately (what can I say? I can't resist a good sale!) and though I've saved all of the receipts I'd like to know if the matching Easter dresses I found will be put to good use :-P

Audrey is as crazy as always. **knock wood** She's been sleeping through the night (finally!) on a fairly consistent basis and is making it past her 5:00 AM wake up time regularly as well. She's a much happier child for getting better sleep - it's nice to have a snuggly ball of kid in the morning than a overtired shrieking mess. I'm proud that she found her way herself and it wasn't something that we forced upon her by letting her cry fruitlessly in her crib by herself. Yes, it's taken some time (and some frustration, for sure!) but she's there. At least for now :-P

She's still nursing before bed at night. She's all about anything that will stall bedtime. We sing songs, kiss her "buh-bites" (bug bites) - both real and imaginary and rock in the glider. For her final act she flings her arms around my neck and lays a big, fat kiss on my mouth. It's delightfully adorable and she knows it. Girlfriend has my number - the way to Mama's patiences is through hugs and kisses.

Not much to report

14 weeks pregnant today and wearing maternity pants to work. I walked in and my boss said to me "Wow, you look nice!". I'm interpreting that to mean "wow - pants that fit! Great job!". Nice.

It's another 2 weeks until my next mw appointment. I have no reason to think that there's anything wrong but I still eagerly look forward to hearing that heartbeat. I'm strangely obsessed with learning the gender of this baby. 20 weeks can't get here fast enough.

Audrey is a peach. The silliest, craziest peach ever. She's saying a new word every single day and is just so fascinated with everything going on around her. The latest funny is how chatty she is before bedtime every night. She gets all wound up in the tub/playing on the big bed/putting on PJs. I still nurse her before she falls asleep - that's our quiet down and relax time. Our neighbor's dogs have been particularly barky the past few nights as we've been winding down. For whatever reason Audrey feels obligated to bark back at them which in turn cracks me up and frustrates me because she gets herself going again. Crazy girl.

I love how she curls up on my lap and in my arms. I will be so very sad when she doesn't fit anymore.
